What is 'human capital'?
While there are diverse definitions, it is generally agreed that human capital bears the following characteristics:
- the embodiment of PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY within people;
- the SUM of people's skills, knowledge, attributes, motivations and fortitude;
- can be GIVEN or RENTED to others - but on a temporary basis, as ownership is non-transferable!
- unlike all other factors of production, human capital is the only that CANNOT BE OWNED!
